| Overview: | The East Coast Main Line Bridge is part of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link Contract CTRL 103. The through-box lattice girder rail bridge has a clear span of 75 metres and carries the new twin track rail link over the busy East Coast Main Line. The structure was assembled using a combination of site welding and bolted joints. The bridge is clad with an external 'cassette' type system for ease of replacement and has an internal fire and accoustic lining. The bridge was launched across the busy East Coast Main Railway Line during a 72 hour procession in 2003. |
