| Overview: | This footbridge provides access to the East side of the New Arsenal Stadium site at Ashburton Grove, London. It crosses several rail and underground lines and is exceptionally wide to cater for the football crowd leaving the stadium. The top boom of the lattice girder bridge consists of double CHS tubes.
The bottom booms are box girders constructed from plate and the internals are also CHS members. This two span Bridge is 115 m long including the skewed end and 21m wide and weighed 1000 tonnes. The Bridge was fully site welded adjacent to the final position and was installed by launching over temporary trestles with a launching nose during a weekend closure of the railways. |
